FILM SCREENINGS AND MEETINGS WITH THE PUBLIC

In August 2016, the Festival Les Percéides will be pleased to continue its partnership with the Old Factory of L’Anse-à-Beaufils, a cultural haven for the region located near the village of Percé. It will be the main site for both the festival official selection screenings and the meetings with the filmmakers and the public. In addition, the popular movie nights on the beach near the Percé docks will also be scheduled in the festival program. Finally, the Festival Les Percéides will present for a second year its special section devoted to digital art called la Grande rencontre des arts médiatiques en Gaspésie.

2016 JURY AWARDS

A professional jury, whose members will be announced in the spring, will award talented filmmakers from the festival selections. These awards include the Percéides Grand Jury Prize for the best film in the festival official selection and the Best Canadian Documentary Prize of the official selection. The jury will also award the Best Short Film Prize and the Best Gaspé Peninsula Prize, while the People’s Choice Award will be awarded by the audience.

The Festival Les Percéides aims to both promote independent cinema to the public in Gaspésie and to participate in the discovery of promising young talent in contemporary cinema. Held every summer since 2008, the festival has presented an official selection of feature films from the region and abroad, as well as documentary programs and short films. It has also organized numerous meetings between filmmakers and the public. Let us recall that the last edition featured more than sixty films and was a great success with several sold out screenings.
